I bought this bike a couple of years ago for around $700-$800 & added a few accessories. It's been out literally like 12 times, then I never had the time to get out riding again-that was the first season I had it. It has a small chip or two, but is otherwise mint. 58cm frame, Shimano Sora shifters, 25 inch wheels. I added Shimano clip-ons, a Sigma computer/trip odometer/speedometer, an under seat storage bag w/tube/tool, and an air pump. Other than that, the bike is unaltered, including the original tires. I am a professional mechanic, currently employed at Idle times Bike Shop in orleans, and i am looking to sell my K2. This bike is absolutely imaculate. It Is constructed of an aluminum frame, seatpost and headset. While it has a carbon fork to help dampen road vibrations. The bike weighs in at just 23.2 pounds. Hardly anything on this bike is stock. It has Shimano Spd pedals, a sram truvativ crank arm. The bike has stainless steel braided cables. Tektro brakes, Alex DA16 rims, all stainless steel spokes and nipples, A DCD carbon fork, Ceramic dura ace bearings in the crank, Powerglide chainrings in the front, An ultegra rear cassette and chain, a newer bottom bracket, specialized Avatar143 seat, FSA aluminum headset, an aluminum stem that i flipped upside down to make it have a more aggresive angle, and a BC 906 Spedometer. I am probably missing a couple of things too. It was converted from a triple in the front to a double. the rear cassette is a 12-23 gear, and the front is a 52-44. at just 90 rpm's in the biggest gear it runs just over 30 mph. I tune this bike up weekly. Also I will Professioanlly fit the bike to you (which costs $250 to do at Cycle Loft). Please no low Ballers or dreamers. It is almost perfect, minus a few VERY small skuff marks and scratches.
The left pedal cage is a little broken (see pic), but you can still pedal hard and stop hard, and I have been riding with it like this for 6+ months.

Had this bike built and picked it up on 11/22/08. I tried to convince myself that i liked this bike, but it's not for me. Im more into cyclocross bikes which this bike could be, but i don't like the MTB geometry. Have the original invoice which came out to be $1,275.89 + tax $63.75 + labor $75.00 = $1,414.64. Also not on the invoice is a Brand new Brooks B-17 saddle, Salsa CroMo stem, Planet Bike fenders, Surly chain tensioner, and WTB Nano 2.1 MTB tires that are not on the bike but come with it. It's set up as a SS with a Surly 19t cog, FSA 48t crank, Shimano Deore BB. Also the 29er wheel set is the Mavic 317 Disc with Shimano Deore hubs and Schawble Manhatten Cross tires with reflective pinstrip and the Avid BB-17 disc brakes. The head set is the FSA Pro Pig 2 with custom copper spacers for a cool look. The rear wheel hub is also set up for a cassett if you want to run gears. Frame saver was also added inside of frame to prevent rust. I have around $1,500 invested into this bike. You never get back what you put into a bike so i think $900 is a fair price. This is a pair of Mavic X317 disc, MTB 26�. They have been used for about a season, the hubs are front Hadley and rear is a Real, I am not sure but think the spokes they are black double butted wheelsmith. Will supply with skewers. The issue here is the alloy nipples have gone off so need replacing. I started to have these replaced but don't have the time (one wheel is now missing one or two spokes and all nipples have been backed off), should cost no more than $40 to have them relaced.
Will supply with new continental tyres and Specialized inners, to compensate for the relace.

Nefarious forces in the bicycle industry will tell you that new 27-inch wheels are extinct. They want you to throw away your great ole' steel road bike, and buy an overpriced, shoddy new aluminum or carbon shitter.

I have over 100 brand new 27-inch wheels in stock. (list below)

These old bikes can be restored, or converted to single speed, inexpensively. I can convert for you with a new rear wheel, new chain, and single-speed freewheel for $60.

For another $60 you can get a new bottom bracket AND a new crankset.

Go to your local bike shop and ask for a single-speed or fixed-gear conversion on your old bike. If they try to upsell you to a new bike, than walk your ass out the door.

The bike manufacturers are doing a horrible job these days, producing overpriced junk. The Shimano monopoly produces flimsy, finicky derailleurs and shifters, which never work correctly.

Up for sale is a Trek 6000 24-speed mountain bike that I used around town for a few months. I'm selling it because the frame size is "medium" and I'm 6'2", so "extra-large," which is what I now have, fits me better. The bike was originally $570 around 7-9 years ago; it has a lightweight aluminum frame (which also won't rust in Boston winter weather), threadless headset, and "V-brake" style (linear-pull) rim brakes for great stopping power.

The original fork has been replaced with a Rock Steady Gorilla suspension fork with 50mm travel; the rear derailer, crankset, and shifter/brake-lever combos have been replaced with ones from a Trek 3900 that were in better shape. The shift and brake cables are brand-new, as are the rear brake pads.

The bike goes, turns, and stops great and needs no maintenance. It's a great city bike, and should also do well on the trails. I can also install any desired accessories (fenders, pannier, kickstand, whatever) for the cost of the parts. I will consider all reasonable offers.
